Over-extrusion (blobby, oversized, rough surfaces)

Surfaces look lumpy, dimensions come out oversize, and the nozzle drags through raised ridges. Corners bulge.

Easy over extrusion overextrusion too much plastic blobby

Likely causes

  1. Flow / e-steps set too high
  2. Filament diameter larger than assumed
  3. Nozzle temperature too high
  4. Layer height too tall for the nozzle

How to fix it

  1. Calibrate e-steps, then reduce flow in 2% steps until surfaces smooth out.
  2. Measure the filament and set its true diameter in the slicer.
  3. Lower nozzle temperature by 5 °C.
  4. Keep layer height at or below 75% of the nozzle diameter.
Work through it in order

The fastest path to a fix

Change one thing at a time and print a small test. Start with the first fix listed — it is the most common cause.
