Poor bridging (sagging spans)

Horizontal spans sag or droop instead of forming a clean flat bridge.

Easy bridging sagging bridges droopy overhangs

Likely causes

  1. Cooling too weak
  2. Print speed over bridges too slow or too fast
  3. Nozzle temperature too high
  4. Too much flow

How to fix it

  1. Maximise part cooling for bridges (100% fan for PLA).
  2. Set bridge speed around 30–45 mm/s and bridge flow to ~90%.
  3. Drop nozzle temperature 5–10 °C for bridges.
  4. Reduce bridge line width slightly.

The fastest path to a fix

Change one thing at a time and print a small test. Start with the first fix listed — it is the most common cause.
