Warping (corners lifting off the bed)
Corners or long edges of the first layers peel up off the build plate. Tall, wide parts curl most.
Easy warping lifting corners curling detachment
Likely causes
- Bed temperature too low or uneven
- Chamber / ambient air too cold or draughty
- Poor first-layer adhesion (greasy plate, wrong z-offset)
- Material with high shrinkage (ABS, ASA, PC, nylon) in an open printer
- Cooling fan too strong on the first layers
How to fix it
- Clean the plate with warm water and dish soap, then IPA. Oils from fingers are a top cause.
- Raise bed temperature within the material range and verify it with an IR thermometer.
- Add a brim (5–10 mm) or use a raft for large, warp-prone parts.
- Enclose the printer or shield it from draughts. Even a cardboard box helps ABS.
- Turn the part cooling fan off for the first 2–3 layers, and reduce it overall for ABS/ASA.
- Slow the first layer to 15–20 mm/s and set a slightly squished z-offset.
Work through it in order
The fastest path to a fix
Change one thing at a time and print a small test. Start with the first fix listed — it is the most common cause.
