PETG settings for the Anycubic Kobra 2
A starting profile for printing PETG on the Anycubic Kobra 2 (220 × 220 × 250 mm, open frame, direct drive). Tune from here with a temperature tower and a flow test.
| Setting | Starting value |
|---|---|
| Nozzle temperature | 230–250 °C (start 240) |
| Bed temperature | 70–85 °C (start 78) |
| Print speed | 60 mm/s |
| First layer speed | 20 mm/s |
| Layer height | 0.2 mm (0.12–0.28) |
| Retraction distance | 0.6 mm |
| Retraction speed | 30 mm/s |
| Part cooling fan | 50% |
| Enclosure | Open |
| Drying before use | 65 °C for 5 h |
PETG strings easily and can fuse to smooth PEI. Use a textured plate or a release agent, and tune retraction. PETG absorbs moisture. Dry it at 65 °C for 5 h before a long print.
Why these values
The Anycubic Kobra 2 is a direct-drive machine, so retraction can stay short (around 0.6 mm). Its usable speed is around 250 mm/s, so the 60 mm/s above is within the comfortable range for this material.
Cooling is set to 50%: a middle setting balances surface quality against layer bonding.
Next steps
- Print a temperature tower across 230–250 °C and pick the cleanest band.
- Calibrate flow, then check the volumetric flow against your hotend.
- If something goes wrong, see the troubleshooting guide.
- Price the part with the cost calculator.
